Commentary
This verse elevates Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati to the status of a wish-fulfilling cosmic force, not through effort, ritual complexity, or prolonged supplication—but through mere glance (dṛṣṭi).
1. The Power of the Divine Glance
In tantric metaphysics, dṛṣṭi is not passive seeing.
It is active transmission.
Gaṇapati’s glance:
-
activates dormant karma
-
accelerates destiny
-
removes invisible blockages
-
bestows both material and spiritual prosperity
This is grace without negotiation.
2. Sakalārtha — All Aims, Not Just Wealth
The verse does not limit artha to money alone.
Sakala-artha includes:
-
wealth
-
knowledge
-
authority
-
relationships
-
spiritual attainment
-
liberation (mokṣa)
What is given may exceed what the devotee consciously asks for, because the divine glance operates from a higher intelligence.
3. Parallels with Śrī Lalitā Devī
Your insight is precise and traditional.
Just as Śrī Lalitā’s apāṅga dṛṣṭi (side-long glance) bestows:
-
abundance
-
sovereignty
-
fulfillment beyond desire
…so too does Ucchiṣṭa Gaṇapati’s gaze.
This establishes him as:
-
a Śakti-empowered form of Gaṇapati
-
operating through grace, not effort
-
aligned with Śrī Vidyā principles
The glance is initiatory, not transactional.
4. Why “Glance” and Not “Blessing”?
A blessing may be delayed.
A mantra may require repetition.
A ritual may need preparation.
A glance is instantaneous.
This verse teaches that:
-
readiness of the seeker matters more than the act
-
receptivity invites abundance
-
grace can descend without warning
Ucchiṣṭa Ganapati does not merely remove obstacles—
He rewrites what is possible.
