FOLLOW MY ACHE
When in doubt… Follow the ache.
Hitting rock bottom
Is vital to the revelations.
They erupt from
The crevice of pain.
I need not succor
From the scalds of this longing
That brings me face to face
With who I am.
There will always be joy and pleasure
To delude me from
The transience of this lifetime.
I bow to them too,
Taking pride in my lusts.
But pain remains my deeper owning
And in it’s skews is hidden my freedom
From the desiring to be free.
I come and go
Many many lifetimes
And yet I do not learn
That what brings pleasure
Is sure to arrive me to pain.
Who is the one
Who suffers both joy and sorrow
And yet remains
Ever untouched by it all.
I yearn to know
This simple innocence.
When in doubt…
I will follow the ache.
