There are many rituals, traditions, and upcharaas to Devi, and her Aishwarayam can be exalted through these procedures. Like other deities, She can be worshipped using the 5,6,16,64 & 72 upcharaas. Through the offerings of naivedyam, deepam, gandham, aaratikyam, dhoopam, pushpam, mudras, and hymns to her anointing her with silken fabric and glorious jewelry and shringara, the devotee can find his satiety in doing his worship to her.
As music cannot be made just by stringing some notes together…the true pooja cannot happen without the bhava of samarpan and bhakti. Like a plastic flower with no fragrance, the mere performance of outer ritual can never please Devi or get us any long term satiety and benefits. Bhakti which is like an unbroken flow of oil ( ajayadhara) is the true way of worship. Constant remembrance through every living and breathing moment is the reward of her own grace. this bhava of constant remembrance and establishing her in the altar of your heart and doing constant “manasa puja” to her is the key to a rewarding and wholesome association with Devi.
The culmination point of this Bhakti will be at the Bindu where the devotee will be merged into her and ONLY ONE remain.
May you know the bhava of Manasa Puja to Devi!
