This mystic name of Devi from Lalitashasranama can be baffling to the intellectual saadhak as it holds within it the two polarities in immediate and perfect fusion. Vyakta meaning manifest and Avaykta meaning unmanifest are the two spectrums of her consciousness. this is how she transmigrates between the lower 3d world and the ethereal realms of superconsciousness. Being firmly rooted in the reality of samsara and yet ever freely and effortlessly floating in the transcendental skies of eternal freedom, she shows to us how co-existence is not only a possibility but makes us experience it while we live here.

Just like when we cannot seem to believe that a sprouted seed will one day become a massive tree, since our eyes cannot see it bursting open beneath the earth, we may be fooled by our limited mind to see her as a mere mortal with the pangs of everyday life. Just like SHIVA  who is shava/ corpse-like and not manifest, she enables consciousness to become dynamic and flowering and manifest in myriad and mystic ways of Shakti. Hence she is the embodied SHIVA-SHAKTI herself. androgynous and polar, she is the Bindu of nondual self that has merged in her bosom every congruent principle of this and many universes.
